As March 2025 begins, we are witnessing the rapid implementation of President Trump’s America First agenda, which focuses on supporting domestic manufacturing and reshoring critical industries. 

The administration has directed the Secretary of Commerce and the U.S. Trade Representative to collaborate with other departments to assess various factors affecting trade relationships, including tariffs, unfair taxes, and exchange rate policies. We will monitor this closely and lend our expertise where warranted.

AMMA remains the cornerstone of advocacy for domestic manufacturers of PPE and critical medical supplies. The current political landscape presents unprecedented opportunities for our industry, with potential new programs and policies that could significantly benefit U.S.-based medical manufacturing.

The need for continued bipartisan collaboration in the 119th Congress is paramount in this dynamic environment. As various committees ramp up their work, we have released our lobbying agenda and consider this an extraordinary opportunity to advocate for policies prioritizing resilience in our healthcare supply chains. We can also raise awareness among the media to help them recognize the opportunities for our country through a revitalized domestic manufacturing sector.
