AMMA Newsletter – June 2025
June 2, 2025

Dear AMMA Members,

We are pleased to share several major developments in this month’s update. Most notably, the U.S. House of Representatives recently passed H.R. 1, the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” a comprehensive tax reform package that delivers significant benefits for domestic manufacturers.

Among its provisions, the Act allows immediate deduction of domestic R&D expenses through 2030 and introduces “no taxes on overtime.” These changes will help American medical manufacturers innovate, invest, and grow with greater certainty and financial flexibility. Our collective advocacy now pivots to the U.S. Senate to ensure its passage.

Additionally, our advocacy was instrumental in the announcement of the reopening of the NIOSH Lab by the Department of Health and Human Services. AMMA’s role was widely recognized, including the placement of op-eds by Claudio Dente of Dentec in newspapers across the country. The advocacy demonstrated our commitment to workplace safety, innovation, and regulatory excellence.

AMMA’s voice remains loud and clear on the importance of targeted tariffs to ensure a strong competitive position.  AMMA members shared this message in global media stories including Safesource in the Wall Street Journal and NYES in the Financial Times.

AMMA continues to ensure the voice of our industry is heard on critical issues. At the recent MD&M East Show at the Javitz Center, three leaders of AMMA companies participated in a prominent panel discussion on the future of domestic manufacturing and showed our industry’s expertise and willingness to compete to over 100 decision makers.

Please confirm and book your participation in AMMA’s DC Fly-in from Tuesday June 24 to Thursday, June 26.  Your attendance is crucial and provides a great opportunity for us to sit with policymakers in Congress, the Administration, and regulatory agencies to prioritize our issues. See Easyboard for more information and claim your spot today.

These continued activities reflect AMMA’s dedication to supporting our members and the broader medical manufacturing community. We look forward to working together to capitalize on these new opportunities and to further strengthen American leadership in critical medical supplies.

Sincerely,

Eric
