Dear Members,
As we close another impactful month, I am pleased to share key developments and the latest advocacy efforts on your behalf.
Annual Washington Fly-In: In late June, our Board of Directors and member companies conducted a high-impact “fly-in” to Washington, DC, where they met directly with members of Congress and senior administration officials. We met with Administration leaders in the White House, agency leaders, and sat with Sens. Bill Cassidy (R-La.) and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) and Reps. Vern Buchanan (R-Fla.) and Ashley Hinson (R-Iowa) amongst others.

These meetings were instrumental in ensuring your voices are heard at the highest levels of government. AMMA members advocated for policies that strengthen our industry, emphasizing the urgent need for legislative action to support domestic manufacturing and preparedness.
Participants also weighed in on key provisions of the budget reconciliation bill, dubbed the “One Big Beautiful Bill” to help ensure that provisions favorable to our industries were included.

Legislative Spotlight – “One Big Beautiful Bill”: A major focus of our discussions in DC was the “One Big Beautiful Bill.” This comprehensive legislation, passed by the House and Senate and signed by the President will supercharge U.S. manufacturing of PPE and critical medical supplies. The bill provides:
-
Targeted tax relief and investment incentives for manufacturers
-
Direct funding to bolster domestic stockpiles
-
Elimination of the de minimis loophole
-
Permanent R&D expensing to drive innovation
-
Incentives for U.S.-based production and facility upgrades
-
Tax breaks for overtime pay (to manage highs and lows)
-
A permanent 21% corporate tax rate
These provisions aim to boost innovation, expand capacity, and ensure national readiness for future health emergencies.

Looking Ahead: Our advocacy, media, and political engagement efforts are making a difference, but your continued participation is vital. Please find attached a selection of newsclips highlighting our recent activities and the national conversation around these critical issues.
Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to strengthening our industry.
Sincerely,
Eric
