November 27, 2024

U.S. PPE and medical supplies manufacturers applaud Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA), on his appointment as Chair of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee. As a physician, Senator Cassidy understands firsthand the critical role of PPE and reliable medical supplies in safeguarding patients and healthcare providers. His leadership is a promising development for our industry and the country.

AMMA Executive Director Eric Axel said, “Leaders like Senator Cassidy have shown they are ready to revitalize American manufacturing, especially for critical health care supplies.  We appreciate his hard work supporting jobs, national security, resilience, and ensuring our nation can stand strong in any crisis.”

Senator Cassidy has consistently supported American manufacturing and has taken a strong stance on holding the Chinese Communist Party accountable for unfair trade practices, environmental negligence, and labor exploitation. He is an invaluable partner in restoring America’s competitive manufacturing edge and reinforcing supply chain resilience. Using legislation and leadership, he has consistently fought to level the playing field for U.S. companies.

Axel added, “AMMA is especially encouraged by Senator Cassidy’s history of collaborating with President Trump and a bipartisan coalition of leaders in the Senate and the House of Representatives on policies revitalizing the American manufacturing sector. Together, their vision can strengthen domestic supply chains, bring jobs back to U.S. soil, and create a more secure, self-sufficient medical manufacturing ecosystem that our healthcare system urgently needs.”

Cassidy’s home state of Louisiana is also home to two of AMMA’s Board Members, SafeSource Direct and Oschner Health. AMMA is ready to work with Senator Cassidy and all of our leaders to fight to restore American manufacturing and healthcare resilience.
